It's not that we have an issue with pro Chinese, we have an issue with extremism. It is extreme when the novel depicts that you can only be a tool for those in power, sacrificing everything to fulfill the ambition and greed of government officials, and have no opinion of your own, is when it is an issue. In recent years, China has even started cracking down on any novel plots that leads them to question any form of Chinese government, including corrupt feudal monarchies (dynasties). All novels have started portraying that the government, even feudal governments, are positive, and the authors only have a choice to vilify foreigners.
i think your view is ok. but most of reader that hate prochinese is not from that you tell me. they always complain if chinese better or stronger than US. or protagonist help chinese and not help others country.or they write US or japan as villain. what wrong if people think his country is better than other (in fantasy) . as in US movie they always made US is hero and muslim as villain why dont they hate US Movie too?
They are just hypocrites.. When someone pointed them out, they will just provide you some flowery words and tell you that they don't hate chinese but actually they do. They always criticize the novel because of racism but they group it as all the Chinese are like that. Deep down they are the racist and won't acknowledged it since they have that ego....
